Okay, time to wind up Ella and move along on our journey! I mean, I didn't want to leave, but there was more of Sri Lanka to see, and besides, Gordon snuck off and bought train tickets to Kandy.

Quite the flashy tuk tuk. Well done, sir! Tuktuk drivers love to personalize their vehicles with all sorts of decals, flowers, you name it!

Little girls watching the dancing at the wedding reception we attended. The bride was beautiful, but did I get her photo? Noooo! I was too busy cramming my gullet with tasty little spicy shrimp snacks, French fries, and ooooo, that wedding buffet! Mercy!

The Little Jolly, a cute little guesthouse and restaurant in Ella. We didn't manage to go inside, but I think it's worth checking out.

Ahhhhhh... Ella! Have I mentioned how I would rather be there than here, getting carpal tunnel syndrome at my keyboard. Hey, I could afford to retire at 42 in Ella.

The train station. Stepping back in time!

The front of the train station. You'd swear you were in another era. And I used their very clean squat toilet. I am good at squat toilets. It's all the squats I do in gym class. Wait, you don't need to know about this.

Jayantha, friend/taxi driver, and Gordon at the wedding reception Jayantha invited us to. We miss Jayantha. I wish I could fly him and his family here for a visit. He would love to visit another country.

Train coming around the corner near our guesthouse (Mountain Heaven.) The people are waiting for the train to pass so that they can go back to walking along the tracks.

Gordon, Karen, and Karen's baby monkey. Karen is an ex-pat Australian who runs a very nice guesthouse in Ella called Ella Highest (do check it out.)

Karen's husband, who is a veterinarian, brought home a baby monkey one day. The baby's mother had been killed by a train. Some locals took it in, but by they time it was given to Karen's husband, the monkey (named Cocoa) was too evidently too old to go back to the wild.
